What We Do

OBIC UK is a private company limited by guarantee incorporated on 4 October 2020 in England and Wales company number 12926237.

OBIC UK’s core aims are the advancement of education and the furtherance of such charitable objects connected with the educational attainment in the Black ethnic community in the UK.    

– To collect and receive subscriptions or donations (whether inter vivos or by will) of money, investments, or other property of whatsoever nature for the purpose of providing financial assistance for the educational attainment of students of black ethnic minority background. 
 
– To administer and apply the property of OBIC UK both income and capital for any charitable purpose beneficial to OBIC UK and for any such purpose to advance money to black ethnic minority students.

– To administer and apply the property of OBIC UK both income and capital in providing bursaries for ethnic minority students.  

In furtherance of OBIC UK’s core aims of the advancement of education and entrepreneurial skills for the black ethnic community in the UK, OBIC UK is committed to a purpose which:

1. encourages individualism, creativity, and technological innovation through a broad vision of educational motivational opportunities for Black and Ethnic minority students in the UK.

2. enables Black and Ethnic Minority Students to develop a strong understanding of themselves and their leadership capabilities, while also empathising with others through a genuine appreciation for different people, different perspectives, and different cultures;  

3. empowers enquiring minds and fosters appreciation of independent thinking and learning for black and ethnic minority students, through the simulation of positive role model scenarios prevalent in the black ethnic minority communities;

4. nurtures the value of leadership and service;

5. creates a sense of togetherness, achievement, honesty, integrity, and determination amongst students of black ethnic minority background

6. promotes amongst black ethnic minority students, a respect for, and keenness to contribute to the community and prepare them for compassionate leadership in an increasingly global society.
